I was born in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil). I started to surf in the early 90’s when I was 13 years old and I became interested in repairing and making my own boards. However what was just a hobby turned into a profession. After loosing my father I had to start making and repairing boards for friends and local surfers but it was always clear that making boards was what I wanted and what I enjoyed doing. Hardship made me stronger and enabled me to follow my dreams.
In 1994 I got my first job in a professional board factory where I learned a huge amount in shaping and all the construction process (glassing, sanding, artwork and polishing). Over the years I’ve worked with brands and shapers of international presti- ge. (Rusty, Victory, Channel Islands, Lost, FB...) giving me the opportunity to shape for top level surfers.
In 2006 I arrived in Europe, first passing through France and the Omkara factory where I spent good moments while starting my work in Europe. Then on to Spain and the Olatu factory where I became part of the Pukas family shaping for Channel Islands and Kream by Alessandro Pierre and having the honour of working alongside shapers such as Peter Daniels, Gael Blouet, Axel Lorentz, Mikel Agote, Johnny Cabianca, Bob Mactavish amongst others.
With a desire to continue evolving and creating in total liberty, in 2016 I once again decided to go my own way, dedicating all my knowledge, experience and creativity 100% to my boards Alessandro Pierre Surfboards.
